Road upgrade moves to intersection construction

A project to upgrade 48th Avenue in Vernon is into its next phase and could be completed by next month.

The work includes adding a new drainage culvert to prevent annual flooding issues, road improvements and a multi-use pathway on the north side of 48^th Avenue.

The third portion (“Stage B”) of the project (between Highway 97 and 29th Street) is under construction and should be done by mid-July.

“Construction in the intersection of 48^th Ave and Anderson Way is scheduled to take place between now and the middle of July. Traffic access to Anderson Way from 48^th Avenue will be limited during this time,” said a city news release.
