May 22, 2020 | 1:16 PM

A small group of protestors marched in the rain outside the the Vernon courthouse today, calling on the government to “end the lockdown.”

About ten people carried signs along 27th Street saying things like ‘Quarantine the sick – not the healthy’ and ‘Every business is essential to someone.’

The protestors are opposed to the ongoing restrictions on residents and businesses related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The rally participants, who did not appear to be practicing social distancing, ended their activities just before 1 p.m.

Health Minister Adrian Dix was earlier asked about protests like this, and his basic advice is to tune them out.

“We have to focus on what we can do together, and don’t allow people who are attempting to promote themselves by using the suffering of others to distract us,” said Dix, who added “there are always going to be people who want to pursue another agenda.”
