Police called to Vernon motel for firearms complaint

Police officers descended on a Vernon motel in the 3200 block of 25th Avenue Friday afternoon in response to an alleged weapons complaint.

RCMP were advised an individual at the motel was causing a disturbance and was in possession of an alleged firearm around 3:30 p.m.

Numerous officers attended to the area and arrested one person without incident.

“A search subsequent to the arrest did not locate any firearm and the individual has since been released without charge,” said Cpl. Tania Finn, media relations officer.
