Thousands hit stores to find last minute Christmas gifts

It was a shopping frenzy out there Tuesday as thousands packed Vernon stores to find the perfect last-minute Christmas gift.

Darren Robinson, marketing director of the Village Green shopping centre, said the mall typically sees around 12,000 to 15,000 Christmas Eve shoppers.

He said there are up to 500,000 shopping visits during the last four weeks before Christmas that make up 20 per cent of the mall’s annual traffic count.
