Jun 3, 2019 | 10:55 AM

It was a miracle donation.

Save-On-Foods presented a $2.1 million cheque to BC Children’s Hospital at the Miracle Weekend telethon in Vancouver.

The company says customers, staff, suppliers and business partners worked fundraising throughout the year to raise the funds.

Initiatives included barbecues, hot dog sales, and pie throwing as well as the Round Up for Kids campaign, where customers could round up their bill to the nearest dollar and donate the difference.

As well, the Save-On-Foods Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $613,000 in one day.

Save-On-Foods has supported BC Children’s Hospital for more than 30 years and has donated more than $30 million to the hospital.

“Every year I am inspired by the outstanding support Save-On-Foods team members, customers, suppliers and business partners show for BC Children’s Hospital,” said Save-On-Foods president Darrell Jones. “Because of the Save-On-Foods community, our company is able to donate millions of dollars to this amazing organization and help children and families from across the province get the care they need. I am so grateful for the heart our people put into fundraising and am so proud to present this cheque on behalf of all of them.”
