Band Puts Stop To Pot Shops

It appears the Okanagan Indian Band has put the brakes on further pot shop expansion on its land.

The band council says as of May 27th establishing or commencing the operation of any cannabis dispensary on the reserve is prohibited.

However it says the resolution does not apply to the production and distribution of cannabis licensed by Health Canada.

Several pot shops have opened within close proximity on band land in recent weeks, leading some to call it ‘The Green Mile.”
