Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are investigating after an attempted stabbing on 32 Avenue.

According to witnesses, two men were chasing after each other and one of the men was wielding a long knife.

“I heard yelling and screaming, there were two gentlemen running around and one was yelling at the other that he was going to do really bad things with him with a knife, a large knife,” said one witness.

Another witness recounted that one of the men got into a black Toyota Camry and the other man attempted to stab him shortly afterwards through the sunroof.

“I thought oh man I’m going to witness this man getting it in the back or the neck, because he just about had him,” said the witness.

Another person told Beach Radio News that they saw two men leave the methadone clinic and they heard one of the men yelling “Give me my money”.

The incident occurred at around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Police on scene said that the male suspect, with the street name “Stevo” has since been arrested.
