It didn’t take long for provincial crews to deal with a new wildfire south of Sicamous.
The fire east of Highway 97A and Mara Lake, is now officially classified as out after reaching two-tenths of a hectare in size.
“Yesterday (Wednesday), we had three of our personnel assisting the Sicamous volunteer fire department and air tankers on site,” says Fire Information Officer Marla Catherall from the B.C. Wildfire Service.
At this point, the fire west of Owl Creek, is thought to be human caused.
