Spruce Kings Take BCHL Final Opener

Two goals in the final 7 minutes of the third period lifted the Prince George Spruce Kings to a 3-1 win over the Vernon Vipers in game 1 of the Fred Page Cup-BCHL Final.

Ben Brar’s goal at 13:22 of the third broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Kings to victory before 2,112 fans at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Jesse Lansdell’s marker 10 minutes into the third, his 5th of the post season, tied the game at 1 for Vernon, who were making their first appearance in the league championship series since 2014.

Ben Poisson’s 11th goal of the playoffs into an empty net at 19:08, sealed it for the home squad.

The Kings are now 13-1 in the BCHL playoffs. The Vipers fell to 12-6.
