Vernon’s Kevin Hill capped off the FIS World Cup season with an 8th place finish at the final snowboard cross event in Veysonnaz, Switzerland over the weekend.

The 32 year old Hill, a two time Olympian, was the top Canadian in the race, and for the season, finishing 10th overall for the year.

Saturday’s men’s race was won by Lucas Eguibar of Spain, while Alessandro Haemmerle of Austria won the men’s season title.

The top Canadian woman for the season was Meryeta O’Dine of Prince George in 14th.

Kevin Hill’s mother Arleigh, tells Beach Radio News, Kevin will be flying back to BC tonight and will likely take part in the Monster Energy Borderstyle event at Silver Star this weekend.

“Then he will be looking for work,” says Arleigh, who says her son has not yet decided if he will continue in snowboard cross next season.”He likes operating machinery,” says Mrs. Hill, who adds her son’s highlight of the season was making the podium with a third place finish in Spain a few weeks ago.
