Arena Upgrade Plan Put To Public

Feb 26, 2019 | 3:09 PM

Lumby and area residents can get a look at the designs to expand and renovate the Pat Duke Memorial Arena.

The Regional District will be hosting an open house to get input on the upgrade which includes additional female change rooms, a staff office, lunch space, a meeting room, and a new main entrance for the facility.

“With the renovation and expansion concept plans now finalized, arena users and residents are being invited to view the conceptual illustrations and talk with the architects and user groups about the details and value of the improvements to come,” says an RDNO release.

The project is being funded by 2.56 million dollars in Federal Gas Tax funds, along with the $100,000 Lumby won for being named Kraft Hockeyville in 2016.

The open house at the White Valley Community Centre, will be from 4 to 7 pm this Thursday.

“Drawings have been made with a rendered video that walks you through the facility,” says the release.

RDNO staff are hoping to take the project to tender this year.
