Vipers Victorious Over Vees in OT

A thrilling end to a slow start for the Vernon Vipers, as they won in overtime Friday night in Penticton.

After two unanswered goals in the first and second periods from the Vees, Jack Judson picked up a power-play goal from Jager Williamson early in the third period. Then, with 17 seconds remaining in the game, Lane Zablocki scored the tying goal, from Josh Latta and Jesse Lansdell  pushing the game into overtime.

Just over a minute into overtime, Lane Zablocki scored his second of the game, from Jager Williamson, to end the game 3-2 in favour of the Vernon Vipers. Vipers successfully killed 3 out of 4 penalties and went 1 for 7 on the power play.

Head coach, Mark Ferner was pleased with the team’s performance, especially in the third period. His post game comments can be heard here:

 

The rematch between the Vernon Vipers, and the Penticton Vees takes place 6pm Saturday at Kal Tire Place.
