In BCHL action last night the Vernon Vipers couldn’t stay out of the penalty box in the first period costing them 3 power play goals…a lead they could not come back from against the Prince George Cougars.

Teddy Wooding would get the only Vernon goal.  Final score PG 4 Vernon 1.

Next action for the Vipers Friday in Nanaimo.

In KIJHL play, a big road win for the North Okanagan Knights edging the Summerland Steam 3-2.  Jeff Saharchuk would go 1 and 1 on the night.

In the WHL an exciting night for the fans at Prospera Place as the Kelowna Rockets took the East Division leading Prince Albert Raiders into overtime…then won 4-3 in a shootout.

Roman Basran would stop 33 shots for the Rockets earning First Star, which included an assist on the Rockets 3rd. goal forcing overtime.

Nolan Foote would go 1 and 2 on the night for Second Star…and would score the only goal in the shootout beating Team Canada goaltender Ian Scott for the win.
