Vernon Team Wins BC Title

The Vernon Secondary Panthers are the top cats in BC Double A high school football.

The Panthers got a 90 yard touchdown from running back Charles Lemay on their opening drive against the Robert Bateman Timberwolves of Abbotsford, and went on for a 48-12 win in the title game at BC Place Saturday.

Lemay ended up with five TD’s in the game.

The Panthers lived up to their number 1 provincial ranking against the fifth ranked T-Wolves.

The Panthers, coached by Sean Smith, celebrated their first BC football title after losing in the BC final two years ago.
