Torch Relay Makes Stop In Vernon
Vernon will be one of the stops next week for Canada Games Torch Relay.
The relay, sponsored by MNP, started in Ottawa in early October, and is making its way across the country stopping in 50 communities, before ending in Red Deer Alberta, where the games will be held from Feb. 15 to March 3.
Mayor Victor Cumming and M-P Mel Arnold will be among the torchbearers from City Hall to the Vernon Rec Centre Dec 4th where a celebration will be held.
“At 4 p.m. the Canada Games Roly McLenahan Torch will be carried by Mayor Victor Cumming, Member of Parliament Mel Arnold, and Blair Gronlund, Partner at MNP, from Vernon City Hall across Highway 97, arriving at 4:15 p.m. at the Vernon Recreation Centre in the Halina Centre gym (3310 37 Ave) for our celebration event.
