Kelowna RCMP joins Special Olympics BC athletes in Kelowna
Kelowna RCMP officers joined Special Olympics BC athletes and community supporters Wednesday morning for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The event, held in partnership with the City of Kelowna, promotes inclusion and raises money for Special Olympics BC’s year-round sports, youth and health programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
RCMP Inspector Laura Pollock said the run gives police an opportunity to stand alongside athletes and celebrate their determination and community spirit.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised more than $6 million for Special Olympics programs in B.C. since 1990 and more than $1 billion worldwide.
