Kelowna becoming major sport event destination: report

Kelowna’s burgeoning status as a sporting destination appears to be borne out in a new report showing massive economic benefits.

Kelowna’s so-called 2026 Year of Sport, included the Memorial Cup, Kelowna Hoopfest, Touchdown Kelowna, BC Summer Games and Skate Canada International.

This handful or major events generated an estimated $95 million in economic impact, while attracting visitors, supporting local businesses and showcasing Kelowna as a premier sport-hosting destination.
