Water conservation goals met but restrictions remain in effect: RDNO
Efforts taken by residents, businesses and visitors were successful in maintaining the water supply during the summer drought.
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), said efforts taken over the summer allowed Greater Vernon Water to meet and exceed the water conservation goals and avoid increased restriction while ensuring the water resources were preserved.
The RDNO praised the community for the efforts made to reduce demand and protect the local water supply.
“Throughout this season, we’ve seen our community step up in a remarkable way,” Bob Fleming, Chair of the RDNO Greater Vernon Advisory Committee, stated.
