Golden Burger Challenge returns for sixth year

Sep 17, 2026 | 4:06 PM

It’s a burger-lover’s favourite time of year.

The sixth edition of the Golden Burger Challenge runs through the month of October.

Ten local restaurants have signed on and will be serving up unique, delicious burgers, with $5 from each one sold going to the North Okanagan Community Life Society, a local organization that supports people living with disabilities.

“The Golden Burger Challenge has become something we really look forward to every year,” NOCLS Executive Director, Darren Bradley, said.

“It is a fun way to bring the community together, support our local restaurants and raise funds and awareness for NOCLS. The best part is that everyone can participate simply by getting out and trying some great burgers.”

There will be two prize categories in this year’s challenge, a Judge’s Choice award based on evaluations from a panel of judges, and a the Golden Burger, based on votes from the public.

The restaurants participating in the competition

  • Match
  • Diner on Six
  • BNA
  • 1516 Bar and Grill
  • The Roster
  • The Kal
  • The Winston
  • Alexander’s Beach Pub
  • Browns Socialhouse
  • Cambium

People were encouraged to go out and try as many burgers they can and cast their votes for their favourite Golden Burger.
