Armstrong Candidates Forums moving to larger venue

With over a dozen names on the ballot for the fall municipal election, the Armstrong Council and Mayor Candidate Forums are changing locations.

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce said it would be moving the two forums to Centennial Theatre in order to accommodate larger crowds.

The Armstrong Council Candidates Forum will go 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 23, and the Armstrong Mayor Candidates Forum will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 29.

The Spallumcheen All Candidates Forum will still be held at Odd Fellows Hall at 6 p.m. Sept. 30.

“Whether you are a voter looking to make an informed decision, a business owner interested in the future direction of the community, or someone who wants to learn more about the people seeking to represent Armstrong and Spallumcheen, these forums are an opportunity to participate in the democratic process,” the Chamber of Commerce stated.

There are four mayor and 16 council candidates running in Armstrong, and in Spallumcheen there are two mayoral candidates and 10 people running for council seats.

Votes will be cast in the local general election on Oct. 17.
