VANCOUVER — Vancouver police say a man found dead about two weeks ago in the city’s Downtown Eastside has been confirmed to be a victim of homicide.

Police say the 21-year-old man was found by emergency responders in the 100 block of East Hastings Street on March 20 after a call about a person being in medical distress.

Paramedics then called police due to the nature of the victim’s injuries.

The man died at the scene despite life-saving efforts by paramedics, and police had initially called the death suspicious.

No further details surrounding the death have been released.

Police are urging anyone who may have information on the case or had contact with the victim the day prior to his death to contact investigators.
