Woman dies after family disturbance in Vernon

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are reporting a family disturbance that resulted in the death of a 75-year-old woman.

It happened Friday afternoon at a residence in the 2,300 block of 34th Street in Vernon.

In a media release issued Monday afternoon, police said they responded to numerous calls from the public regarding a fight that was escalating and then found the body of the woman on a patio.

The suspect has been released from custody pending a future court date and is bound by several conditions.
