Expert gives presentation on bats in Kal Park

May 21, 2024 | 6:00 AM

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about bats, here is your chance.

The Friends of Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park Society is hosting an informative session, called Bats in B.C., with Megan Olson, North Okanagan regional coordinator for the B.C. Community Bat Program.

“Bats are interesting creatures with unique characteristics and are very important to our ecosystems in B.C. Many of our bat species are unfortunately at risk due to white-nose syndrome, habitat loss, and other threats,” the society said.

During the session, participants will learn about ways that you can help bats and how to get involved with bat conservation through the B.C. Community Bat Program.
