Vernon angle to Covid abduction trial

Apr 11, 2024 | 4:00 PM

A Saskatchewan man who allegedly abducted his seven-year old daughter from her mother two years ago to prevent the girl from getting a COVID-19 vaccine has a Vernon angle to it.

The two were found by police in a Vernon parking lot in February 2022 after a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Michael Gordon Jackson who was 53 at that time.

Several witnesses who testified this week at Jackson’s trial in Regina said he was against anyone getting the vaccine.

Jackson, who is a resident of Carievale, Sask., has pled not guilty to the charge as his trial continues.
