Power was restored to the remaining 29 customers at 7:31 p.m. Wednesday.

Power was out for much of Western Vernon Wednesday evening.

BC Hydro reported an outage that affected over 3,600 customers began at 4:59 p.m. March 27 and was caused by birds hitting power lines.

The utility provider dispatched a crew to the scene, and power was fully restored by 7:15.

A secondary outage in the area, also caused by birds striking lines and affecting 29 customers in the area of 25th Ave and 41st St was estimated to be resolved by 7:30 p.m.

Update

BC Hydro said the cause of the outage is believed to be birds hitting power wires.

A crew is expected to be at the scene to start repairs at 6:30 p.m.

A power outage is affecting over 3,600 customers in Vernon.

The outage stretching from downtown Vernon to Okanagan Lake began at 4:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 27.

B.C. Hydro stated there were 3,629 customers without power, and, as of 5:10 p.m. no crew had been assigned to the outage.

There was no estimated time for the repairs to be completed, and the cause of the outage was not known as of time of publication.
