Over 900 local participants in GoByBike Week
The Vernon North Okanagan GoByBike Week saw hundreds of people leave their cars at home and utilize active transportation options.
The GoByBike B.C. Society said there were 913 people in the area who strapped on their helmets, mounted their bikes, and logged their trips between May 29 and June 4.
There were also 91 teams registered in the Vernon North Okanagan area.
Together, the local riders traveled a combined 34,028 kilometres during the week, diverting a total of 7,377 kilograms of greenhouse gases.
