Work may increase odours from Vernon facility

Residents living near Vernon’s water reclamation facility may notice some increased odours in that area later this week.

The city will be conducting maintenance on the plant starting this Thursday (Oct. 20), which could lead to an odour increase.

“All efforts will be made to reduce odours leaving the site, however, some odour transfer may be unavoidable,” a city news release stated. “The city appreciates everyone’s understanding while this work is being completed.”

The work is expected to be done by Friday, Oct. 28 at the facility on 43rd Street.
