Inquiry to review evidence in Vernon manslaughter case

The death of a Vernon woman will be the subject of a preliminary inquiry at the Vernon Law Courts later this year.

Shaun Wiebe, 44, is charged with manslaughter in the death of 37-year-old Heather Barker.

Barker was found unresponsive at her home on Cordon Place at The Rise in March 2018 and later died in hospital.

Wiebe, a former Vernon pharmacy owner, was arrested and charged in January 2021 after an investigation by the RCMP’s serious crime unit.
