Happy ending to puppy-napping incident

Sep 23, 2020 | 1:50 PM

An alleged dog thief in Kelowna apparently has a heart.

RCMP say an 11-week old boxer/mastiff cross puppy stolen from the backyard on a home in the 1900 block of Burtch Road Sept. 18 was returned early Wednesday (Sept. 23).

“We followed up on numerous leads from the community,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy. “Just after midnight on Sept. 23, the puppy was dropped off by an anonymous man at the Kelowna RCMP detachment. We were then able to reunite the overjoyed owner and puppy.”

RCMP is still investigating the theft of the dog.

The dog owner had come home and discovered her 20-pound pooch was gone from the backyard.
