Fatal crash on forest service road

A resident of the Lumby area died in single vehicle crash in a remote area of the North Okanagan.

Police say it happened on a forest service road near Cherryville with emergency responders called to the site just before 6 p.m. Thursday.

“Emergency crews responded, however the incident claimed the life of the sole occupant and driver,” said Const. Kelly Brett, media relations officer for Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

The 56-year-old man who died is believed to be from the Creighton Valley area, east of Lumby.
