Theatre reopens

It’s showtime again

Jul 10, 2020 | 5:16 AM

Residents in the Vernon area will soon have more summer entertainment options.

The Towne Theatre on 30th Avenue, which has been closed for several months due to the pandemic, has announced a reopening on Friday July 10.

The theatre will limit attendance to 50 patrons per showing to allow for social distancing and the concession will not be open at this point.

“We are asking that customers respect social distancing protocol and space themselves accordingly throughout the auditorium,” said a posting on the cinema’s website.

Customers are asked to pay with debit or credit only to limit the amount of contact.

Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the lobby.

Vernon’s other movie theatre, Galaxy Cinemas in the Polson Mall, is not yet ready to reopen, although owner Cineplex has started to open some of its Canadian venues including Orchard Plaza in Kelowna.
