Discharge and probation issued for mischief charges

A Vernon woman who pleaded guilty to four counts of mischief has received a conditional discharge and 14 months of probation.

Teresa Hidasi, born in 1972, was sentenced in Vernon Provincial Court Wednesday after entering guilty pleas in November 2019.

The B.C. Prosecution Service says one of the mischief charges Hidasi pleaded guilty to involved setting a fire at an address at 5925 Hartnell Rd on June 22, 2016, contrary to section 430 of the Criminal Code.

Her three other guilty pleas were related to telling police officers that offences had been committed when they had not, with the intent to mislead, contrary to section 140(2) of the Criminal Code.
