Citizens gather at beach for clean-up
People will be showing-up at Vernon’s Kin Beach this weekend with shovels and rakes in hand.
They will be taking part in a clean-up of the beach which was initiated on social media by a posting from Katie Mather, a resident of the Armstrong area.
She was able to round-up volunteers to help after saying she was “shocked and saddened” to see things like furniture and discarded drug needles and paraphernalia at the beach during a recent visit.
“We have one truck. There is a pile of couches and furniture at the beach so if we could have a few hands and trucks to help us to the dump we would be so grateful,” wrote Mather.
