New sentencing date set for Sagmoen

May 19, 2020 | 3:06 PM

A North Okanagan man found guilty of assaulting a sex trade worker, will be sentenced next month.

In B.C. Supreme Court in Kelowna today, Curtis Sagmoen’s sentencing was set for June 19, 2020 at 10 a.m.

Sagmoen was convicted in February of assault causing bodily harm after he ran over an escort with his ATV near his home on Salmon River Road in the Falkland area in August 2017.

The crash caused the woman to flip over, breaking her tailbone, and causing a concussion, among other injuries.

“The quad hit my back and he was going full speed for sure,” the victim, who can’t be identified, testified. “It still causes me back problems. It hurts to walk. It’s a horrible thing to happen.”
