Just two new cases of coronavirus have been reported in British Columbia since Monday.

It brings the total to 2,446 cases since the pandemic started 17 weeks ago.

There are 325 active cases around B.C., with 45 people in hospital and 12 in critical or intensive care.

There are no new cases in the Interior Health region which has 181 total cases, but has only had one new case since May 8.

There has been three more deaths, two in Fraser Health and one in Vancouver Coastal — all in in long-term care — bringing the provincial death toll to 146.

There are new community outbreaks, or new outbreaks at long term care homes.

1,975 people have fully recovered from Covid-19.

Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, called today “an important milestone” as many businesses are allowed to reopen in B.C.

“For employees, customers and business owners, I want to reassure you we would not be easing these restrictions if we did not feel we could do so safely,” said Henry.

Henry reminded businesses they have to follow the guidelines provided by WorkSafe BC and they need to have a Covid safety plan in place.
