Graffiti removal assistance offered to downtown businesses

The Downtown Vernon Association is offering assistance to merchants in the business improvement areas looking to remove graffiti from their buildings.

The business group will provide up to $500 of service by a pressure washing firm (MTS Mobile), with a total of $15,000 in grant funding available.

The DVA says the program’s goals are to:

• remove graffiti vandalism quickly
• deter future graffiti vandalism
• keep properties clean
• increase perceptions of cleanliness and safety, encouraging use of public spaces
