‘It is truly an honour:’ Arnold thanks voters for new term
Mel Arnold says he will continue to represent all citizens of the North Okanagan Shuswap, regardless of which party they support.
The Salmon Arm resident, who was elected to a second term for the Conservative Party on Monday, has issued a statement thanking voters for the support.
“It is truly an honour to be re-elected as the Member of Parliament for the North Okanagan-Shuswap,” said Arnold. “I thank all the voters that have trusted me to be their voice in Ottawa and I will continue to work hard for results for the North Okanagan-Shuswap. I share this victory with the volunteers on my campaign team, each of whom made a valuable contribution in their own way to make our campaign a success.”
Arnold posted a landslide victory on Monday, defeating runner-up Cindy Derkaz of the Liberals by over 19,000 votes, garnering more than 48 per cent of the votes.
