Lepp Taking Leap For Council

A long-time school district employee is taking a run for Vernon Council.

Kevin Lepp has lived in Vernon for 48 years and has been employed by the school District for more than 26 years.

He has also been a small business owner and entrepreneur.

Lepp says he feels his longstanding roots in the community give him a good understanding of the issues facing the city.

He calls Vernon one of the ‘jewels’ of the Okanagan and says good management of infra-structure now will be essential for future and sustainable growth without taking away from a family-focused community.

Among his key goals and sustainable economic development to attract business and a multi-team approach to address affordable housing, homelessness, mental health and addictions.

Other issues he sees on his agenda are:

* Further engagement and relationship with the Okanagan Indian Band.
*Continue to improve and develop waterfront with increased parks and green space.
*Use technology to increase transparency and citizen’s accessibility to local government.

Lepp says he plans to engage the community to hear concerns, suggestions and ideas that will add to improving life of the citizens living in Vernon.

He considers himself a team player, honest, open-minded and not afraid to make tough decisions when needed.
