Lumby Mountie Charged In Accident

A Lumby Mountie is facing a charge of driving without due care and attention in connection with an accident almost a year ago.

An RCMP truck driven by constable Megan Valenta collided with a motorcycle on Highway 6 near Brewer Road August 6th, 2016.

The 46 year old man and 25 year old woman on the bike were injured.

The officer was not hurt.

The charge was laid Monday after a lengthy investigation by the Independent Investigations Office.
