Update: Incident on Highway

Update 7:05 pm:

Shuswapscanner on Twitter says a vehicle was on fire, a patient was extracted and that person is in the care of BC Ambulance.

The fire is out and crews were dealing with a fuel spill in a ditch.

Highway 97A has been closed near Stepney Cross Road, just south of Enderby.

Kiss FM’s Shawn McCleary says it is not clear if this is a roadside fire, or a vehicle on fire.

The highway is closed for the time being, and traffic is being re-routed.
