The danger posed by the Okanagan Centre fire in Lake Country earlier this month is now officially over.
An Evacuation Alert covering 58 properties on Nighthawk, Long and Tyndall Roads has been lifted.
That’s also allowed the Emergency Operation Centre to stand down.
“To ensure public safety, stay out of fire-affected areas and obey all warning and hazard signs. Parks, trails and public and private lands in the area of the fire remain closed, including Jack Seaton Park and trails,” says a news release from Central Okanagan Emergency Operations.
The July 15 fire destroyed eight homes, with the cause being investigated as an arson.
