One Way Traffic Starts On Two Streets

One way traffic is now in effect on 28th and 29th Avenues in downtown Vernon.
Drivers are asked to watch for the red and white No Entry signs and the One Way arrows showing the direction of travel.
Eleven parking stalls have been moved from 30th Street to those avenues, and to ensure drivers can access the angled parking, the streets were designated as one way traffic.
“Pedestrians crossing these streets will benefit from shorter crosswalks and by having traffic approaching from only one side,” says a City of Vernon news release.
The Pay & Display multi-space stations are due to be installed mid to late August. Until that time, temporary two-hour parking signs will be installed for the angled parking.
