More Budget Input Sought

May 16, 2017 | 7:00 PM

The City of Vernon says it has received about 50 online responses so far, as feedback to its 2018 budget.

Residents have until the end of this month to go to www.vernon.ca/engage, and indicate whether they would increase, decrease or maintain proposed budgets for key city services.

The input will be considered by city council during a budget workshop and discussions June 9th.

City spokesperson Tanya Laing Gahr says while 50 responses is not a lot, some of the comments have been insightful.

“And as this report will be going before council prior to the City starting to set the budget for 2018, those who are responding have a much greater chance of influencing how council directs administration. So I’m hoping that we get a lot more responses in the next two weeks,” says Laing Gahr in an email to Kiss FM.
