Update: Serious Injuries From Stabbing

Police are looking for a suspect after a stabbing at a Vernon apartment building.
The incident happened at the Sundance Suites in the 2900 block of 43rd Avenue just before 11 this morning.
A 45 year old man is in hospital with serious injuries.
Officers and a police service dog checked the area, but were not able to find a suspect.
“The search for the suspect was unsuccessful, investigators with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP General Investigation Section will remain on scene in the coming days and are continuing their investigation,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.
It’s not known if the suspect and victim knew each other, or what the motive may have been.

The building is just a block west of Seaton Secondary, and the school was put on lockdown for a short period as a precaution.

It took place around 11 this morning at Sundance Suites on 43rd Avenue at 29th Street, near Seaton Secondary.
Police have not released details, but reports say a man was taken to hospital in very serious condition.
Students and staff at the school were put on lockdown as a precaution, but that’s now been lifted.
