End Of Greater Vernon Boil Notice May Be Near

May 15, 2017 | 3:12 PM

Greater Vernon’s boil water notice is into its ninth day — but the end may be near.

Renee Clark, water quality manager with the Regional District of North Okanagan, says they hope to remove the notice Tuesday morning.

“We have operations checking the distribution this morning and we are switching to Duteau Creek Water Treatment Plant ,”Clark tells Kiss FM in an email. “We hope to remove the Boil tomorrow morning if all looks okay in the distribution.”

Customers have been having to use boiled or bottled water since rain and snow melt caused a spike in turbidity on the Kalamalka Lake and Duteau systems May 6.
