Kyllo Wins Second Term in Shuswap

May 9, 2017 | 6:58 PM

There was no change in the Shuswap after election night.

LIberal Greg Kyllo picked up 55% of the vote to defeat the NDP’s Sylvia Lindgren (27%) by over 7,000 votes.

“I want to give thanks to all the amazing volunteers who worked so hard,” says Kyllo, a businessman from Sicamous who will be embarking on his second term as the MLA.

“Tonight I’m really happy we got the right results, and I have a renewed faith in humanity in BC that residents in the Shuswap were not going to be duped by the promises of the NDP,” Kyllo tells Kiss FM.

Kevin Babcock of the Green Party was third with 15%, while Libertarian Kyle McCormack received just over 1%.

Eric Foster won Vernon Monashee for a third time, getting 48% of the vote, while Barry Dorval had 29 and Keli Westgate of the Greens with 21.

Kelowna’s three ridings stayed Liberal as did the two in the South Okanagan, and both Kamloops ridings.
