May 3, 2017 | 8:00 PM

The North Okanagan Hospice Society has launched a monthly donor campaign in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday

Executive director Ruth Edwards says the goal is to gain 150 monthly donors at an average of $25 per month, by July 1st.

The society operates a 12-bed palliative care facility in Vernon.

“Canada is built on the strength of her people. Canadians develop communities with solid foundations by supporting each other in times of need,” says Edwards. “And, at Hospice we’ve experienced this truly Canadian style of community support over the years as we have grown our programs.”

Abakhan Vernon, Debt Restructuring Consultants has donated two $250 Visa cards – and every new member to the Monthly Donor Program will receive a ballot in a draw for one of the cards.
