Volunteers Needed for Plus 55 Games
There is no panic from BC-55-Plus Games organizers despite a lack of volunteers so far.
Operations manager Luiz Araujo says they have about 200 signed up, with 12-hundred needed.
“As we get closer to the games I’m confident we will bring in a lot more people because people will become more aware of the Games themselves through the various activities that will take place.”
Araujo has been hired to put the plans of the directors into practice.
“I’ll also be running the games office. We do have a headquarters. It’s at 4007 – 27th Street.”
Araujo says there’s numerous opportunities for people to get involved in the Games.
“Volunteer jobs run from traffic control to hosting at the various sites. Helping out the dragon boat races, etc.”
35 hundred participants will take part in 27 events in September.
