A crash five kilometres south of Monte Lake on Highway 97 Saturday claimed the life of a West Kelowna woman.
Police say a car and a pickup truck collided just before 3 pm.
An 85-year old woman driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year old man and 23 year old woman from Kamloops in the pickup, were not hurt.
Police say their initial reports show the car drifted into oncoming traffic while negotiating a curve.
“Weather and road condition were not considered a factor,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. “The investigation is ongoing into the causes of the collision and the woman’s death, with the RCMP North Okanagan Traffic Services working with the BC Coroners Service.”
