Reports from some local social media outlets identifies the name of the man found Thursday morning in the Silver Star Mountain area.
They credit tips they’ve received from allegedly reliable sources and not official information obtained from police.
However, at the request of the RCMP, we will be respecting the privacy of the family and will not re-broadcast the victim’s name on our social media platform.
RCMP confirm that they are dealing with a suspicious death, but continue to release no further information.
The body was found near the intersection of Wilson Jackson Road and Jordashe Road in Vernon around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday
Memorials to the deceased are showing up on Facebook posts.
